Young Georgian Inventors Recorded among Top 15 Teams of International Robotics Olympiad

Young Georgian inventors have achieved important success at First Global, International Robotics Olympiad in Washington, and occupied 14th place, among more than 160 participants.

Robot created by Georgian inventors raised much interest and the competition jury approved it. Information was released by TBC Bank, which provides the project support.

International Robotics Challenge unites young talented inventors. The competition was held for the first time and more than 160 countries took part in it. The teams were staffed by 15-18 year old inventors.

Topic of the 2017 First Global competition was to determine mechanisms for ensuring clean water resources in the world. Participant teams were to create robots by their own design that would separate dirty and clean particles of water from each other and distribute them to different reservoirs. Georgian inventors created a robot with such functions for about 3 months.

Objective of First Global international Olympiad is to ignite the interest of young people in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The competition is to support young talented people, who are capable of meeting such global challenges as food safety, protection of water resources, disease control, information security and so on.

This year pupils of G. Zaldastanishvili American Academy. V. Komarov Physics-Mathematics N199 Public School and I. Vekua Physics-Mathematics public school participated in the international competition.
