The Tender was Announced on Rehabilitation of Abastumani Observatory

The tender was announced on rehabilitation of Abastumani Observatory. The project is financed by the World Bank and is implemented by Municipal Development Fund.

The estimated cost of work is 2.5 million GEL. Receiving applications will start on January 11 and will end on January 15.

Rehabilitation of the central building of the Telescope,existing ropeway, surroundings, parking and public toilet is planned within the framework of project.

“The object is located in the Adigeni municipality in southern Georgia, 250 km away from Tbilisi. In 1932, near the resort Abastumani, the Observatory was founded by academician Evgeni Kharadze. The Observatory is connected to the resort Abastumani skiing, which passes in the traditional use zone of Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. Observatory and its surrounding area are a cultural heritage monument, “the statement posted on the website of the Municipal Development Fund.
