Land ownership general layout determines locations for developing city parks. Merab Bolkvadze, the co-author of City Institute – Georgia plan, told Business Course that the document determines short-term, midterm and longterm measures for city parks development in the capital city.
Recreation zones should be maintained and arranged in Temka, Dighomi Groves and several other territories, Merab Bolkvadze noted.
“For example, 9 months ago we asked the city hall to arrange park in Temka on 16 hectare territory. It is surprising why the city hall does not take steps in this direction”, Bolkvadze said.
Similar projects should be also implemented in Dighomi, he added.“Dighomi Groves should be preserved, because someone may buy a certain piece and obtain building licenses. Dighomi Groves should be announced a recreational space. Competition should be announced and the park should be arranged”, one of the authors of the general layout noted.
Tbilisi City Hall has already accepted land ownership general layout and public discussions will be held in the near future.
