Tbilisi City Hall Starts Structural Reforms

Tbilisi City Hall plans to carry out structural reforms. The project presentation was held by Tbilisi Vice Mayor Irakli Khmaladze jointly with Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze.

Changes will take place in various directions. According to Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, the municipal office for ecology and greening will be abolished and a new environment protection office will be created. Urban development office will be separated from the office of architecture. Architecture direction will operate separately and will be oriented on services, while the policy will be carried out by the municipal office for urban development.

The municipal office for culture, education and sports and youth affairs will be united under the same office. The municipal office for arrangements will be transformed into the civil office for infrastructure development.

The municipal office for ecology and greening will be transformed into the municipal office for environment protection with key focus on: introduction of modern standards of management of municipal wastes, participation in urban development, planning of greening policy, forest management policy development, participation in urban development process.

Two new directions will be added to the municipal office of transport: definition of transport policy and participation in development and implementation of urban policy.
