Academy award and Golden Globe nominee, Tangerines was named as the best European film by one of the most prestigious Spanish film awards Gaudi Awards.
The annual Gaudi Awards selected the Estonian-Georgian movie from four cinema projects from Europe.
Prestigious ceremony which was held in Barcelona city also awarded films in 22 other categories.
“This is very important prize and award for us, I could not attend the ceremony but our representatives received the prize. Gaudi Awards is held annually and every year it names incredible movies,” Zaza Urushadze said.
Tangerines were shown at festivals across Europe and the United States and won awards at four cinema festivals before it was nominated for the 8th Gaudi Awards in January.
