State Budget to Spend 1.6 million GEL on Popularizing Georgia as Educational Hub

State budget will spend 1.6 million GEL on popularizing Georgia, as an educational hub. Ministry of Education and 6 universities demand the right for simple purchases to manage this sum.

The money will be spent on serving AD agencies, participation in exhibitions, arranging exhibition spaces and other events.

“Since Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and higher education facilities cannot ensure communication with foreign students/patients, we plan to launch cooperation with providers and agencies in foreign countries, which have engaged in attracing foreign students and patients and at the same time in this respect they will popularize Georgia’s educational opportunities”, the Ministry’s statement reads.

It is also noteworthy that peculiarity of purchases does not enable to hold tenders. 990 000 GEL of 1.6 million GEL will be directed to State Medical University. The remaining part will be also spent on the needs of Gori Education University, Ilia University, Technical University, Akaki Tsereteli State University and Javakhishvili State University in terms of attracting foreign students.
