Starting September Labor Inspectors will Check Companies without Warning

Starting September 2019 the Labor Inspection Office will check all categories of companies.

Parliament of Georgia has already adopted the due amendments.

Beqa Peradze, head of the Labor Conditions Inspection Department told the Business Morning Tv program that the inspection will be carried out without warning any time for 24 hours. “There are s

everal new approaches in the legislation. Previously, inspection mandate was applied to companies with excessive hazardous labor conditions, but starting September 1 this mechanism will be applied to all sectors. Moreover, the new law removes all timeframes”, Peradze noted.

The department will be shaped as a legal entity of public law (LEPL) and the number of labor inspectors will grow. The Labor Inspection will be represented in regions too, Peradze noted. ‘We have boug

ht shoulder cameras. We are also developing software, which will connect inspection process with the central basis in continuous regime to ensure transparency of the process. The supervisory board will be also shaped and the labor inspection will be responsible before this board”, Beqa Peradze noted.
