Smart Cameras to Fine Vehicles without Technical Inspection

Starting January 14, vehicles without legal technical inspection will be fined by the so-called smart cameras, the Interior Ministry of Georgia reports.

Vehicle owners will receive notifications about video fines on their legal mobile phone numbers. Vehicle owners will enjoy 20% preferences if they pay the fine within 10 days after reception of notifications.

If vehicle owners do not pay the fine within 10 days, they will receive the fine bill by mail. If the citizens do not pay the video fine due to their registration place (from 30 to 60 days), repeated fines will be sent to them.

If vehicle owners do no pay the fine twice after mailed bill, the Interior Ministry will publish the bill on its official website www.police.ge

For the purpose of providing road traffic safety and prevention of road accidents, the Interior Ministry has already installed 1 441 video cameras all over Georgia and they are turned on into the joint network of the Ministry.
