Embassy of the United States of America in cooperation with the NGO Democracy Laboratory in Georgia announces ParaShoot, a short film marathon for professional and amateur filmmakers who want to help their country through filmmaking. Marathon’s goal is to promote social issues and find new faces in the film industry.
According to TBC Bank, anyscreenwriters, directors and producers from all regions of Georgia can take part in ParaShoot with any experience and skills. The teams will have 72 hours to plan, shoot, and edit a short film with both professional equipment or mobile phones.
The team of experts will select the winning films in two categories: Professionals and Amateurs. The project partners will award winner teams with a variety of prizes (Macbook Pro, iPad Pro) and cash prizes (3,000 GEL) in order to continue to support social issues in the future. Within the scope of the event there will also be an open screening of the best films.
In the frames of ParaShoot, the Masterclasses will be held by social activist and cinematographer Lina Srivastava. Linda has developed a strategic plan for social innovation, including the Oscar-winning ”Born into Brothels”, the nominee of Emmy – ”The Devil Came on Horseback”, one more Oscar-winning ”Inocente” and for the Sundance Film Festival award winning – ”Who Is Dayani Cristal?”.
