Reconstruction Works of Saakadze Square to Begin

The Transport Municipal Service of Tbilisi City Hall begins the reconstruction works of Saakadze Square.

The works will be accomplished by the second half of July 2016. There will be placed pedestrian crossing islands, trafiic lights will be installed and road markings will be renovated”.

These works are conducted on the basis of the survey carried out at the beginning of the year 2016 by the German consulting company “A+S“.

“A+S” has learned the intensity of pedestrians’ and transports’ traffic flows in a capital city. Problems were analyzed by taking into account rush hours and finding solutions by means of simulations and modelings.

According to the experts’ opinions after the reconstruction works are completed, at least the  capacity of transport will increase by 8-10%.
