Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mikheil Janelidze gives recommendations to citizens concerning what happens after visa liberalization is officially confirmed and Georgian citizens are able to travel to the Schengen are freely.
“First of all, it is crucial that the purpose of the travel is valid and truly short-term.Everyone who decides to travel to Europe should plan a short trip and provide all necessary documents: Round trip tickets and a proof of enough financial recourses for the journey in order to avoid problems at the border”- noted Janelidze.
We are working in this direction and we are mobilized. Our embassies perform trainings supported by EU structures to prepare our agencies to provide citizens with the proper information. We started an active campaign inside the country. We visit regions and explain to people what viza liberalization means, how you can travel to European countries. This campaign will be very active in the following weeks- declared Janelidze.
