According to the data on the 1st of January,2017, population in Georgia ( population on the occupied land excluded) amounted to 3 718 200 people which is 0.1% less compared to last year.

57.2% of population lives in cities, whereas 42.8% of them live in villages. The population consists of 47.9% men and 52.1% women.

According to data in 2017, young people aged (0-14) amounts to 19.5% of the population. High working efficiency group of people aged (15-64) amounts to 66.1 %. Elderly people over age 65 are 14.5% of the population

In 2016, life expectancy was 72, 7%.  More precisely, it was 68.3 for men and 77.2 for women.
