Number of Foreign Students in Georgia is Increasing

In the current academic year, 8 012 foreign students study in Georgia. Compared to the 2015-2016 academic year the number of foreign students has increased in Georgia, last year 6 643 foreign students were identified. According to the Statistics Service, there are 3611 foreign students at  bachelor’s degree in Georgia and 4401 on the master’s degree.

Most foreign students, 2235, study social science, business and law.

792 foreign students are enrolled at the Bachelor’s level of Health and Social Security, and 204 – on the faculty of Science.

As for the level of master, most foreign graduate students in 2016-2017 are at the Faculty of Health and Social Welfare in Georgia – 4232. 119 foreign students study social sciences, law and business programs in Georgia.

In 2016, a total of 83 foreign students were enrolled in the doctorate level in Georgia.

Most of them are from Azerbaijan. 2650 students from neighboring states are studying in Georgia, 2 388 were identified last year. India ranks second with 2505 students, followed by Iraq with 974 students. Georgia is interesting for Nigerian students, 439 people selected for the study in the current academic year.
