New Discoveries – Georgian Archaeology

Georgian National Museum Simon Janashia Museum of Georgia invites you to the exhibition “New Discoveries – Georgian Archaeology”.

New Discoveries - Georgian ArchaeologyThe exhibition will be held in the frame of the international conference On Salt, Copper, and Gold: The Origins of Early Mining and Metallurgy in the Caucasus”. The opening event will take place on June 16 at 7 pm.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 95th year anniversary of academician Otar Japaridze. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the social and economic relations, religion and culture of the ancient people living on our land.

The exhibition will showcase photos, movies and artifacts related to the different mining techniques. There will also be presented results of the expedition in Dzezvi location (Georgia) – tombs, settlements and workshops ;wooden wagons and precious jewelry from Ananuri – burial elite tomb of the Bronze Age (Georgia).

The exhibition will last until December 16, 2016.
