Mayor of Tbilisi, Davit Narmania will become Georgia’s Ambassador to Germany, according to Front news International.
He will replace current ambassador Lado Chanturia.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the EU elected Lado Chanturia from Georgia as a judge of the European Court of Human Rights, who currently holds the post of the Georgian Ambassador to Germany.
Elections to local self-government bodies in Georgia will be held on October 21, after which David Narmania will be transferred to the post of Georgian Ambassador to Germany.
David Narmania was elected Mayor of Tbilisi in 2014. Before that, he was the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. He is the author of 24 scientific and popular works and co-author of 34 scientific works.
He underwent a scientific internship as part of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) program at the Department of Financial Sciences at Potsdam University.
He speaks Georgian, Russian, English and German.
