A Lot of Families in Georgia Buy Groceries with Bank Credit

According to the results of OXFAM research, every third family in Georgia does not have enough money to buy groceries. A lot of families buy food with a bank credit from time to time.

The research revealed that average family income amounts to 575 GEL and almost half of it is spent on food every month.

The families with low income spend 65 % of their monthly salary on groceries and families with high income spend only 35% of their income on food. 

The research was implemented in 2015 by ACT analyze and consultation group. Quantitative research was revealed using the data of 1000 individuals. In the frame of quantitative research, food availability, diversification, healthy eating and hygiene issues were explored.
