Ivanishvili: It is Very Pity to Represent Pirosmani Merely in Georgia

The Ex-Premier agrees to the art critics.

Bidzina Ivanishvili declares, that it is very pity to represent Pirosmani merely in Georgia. He is a world-class artist and his works should be on the market.

The Ex-Premier confirmed  delivery of Pirosmani’s art of piece, acquired at Sotheby’s at 4 times higher price (629 000 GBP) to the Art Museum. It should be the second painting after “Arsenali Mountain”, Ivanishvili has returned to Georgia.

“The process, that you acquire Pirosmani and deliver it to the museum might fades its popularity, because the painting must be at the market and the world should see. However, there should be discussions to exchange 30% of Pirosmani’s paintings to the other paintings of other artists. It is very pity to represent Pirosmani merely in Georgia”, – Ivanishvili has declared to the reporters.

He considers that discussions should be started, how to make Pirosmani more popular in the world. To remind, Ivanishvili has great collection of paintings, which is estimated at 1 billion USD. He owns Egon Schiele, Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein, Lucian Freud and other famous artists.
