Government of Georgia will strictly regulate hemp growing for exports purposes, Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze noted at today’s briefing.
“Cannabis consumption in a private sector is not punishable any more. When this court decision was published, I instructed the Interior ministry to develop a new bill. The bill will be discussed today. Law enforcers must have efficient mechanisms for control over marijuana consumption and young generation must be protected. Marijuana consumption will be strictly restricted in public space, for some professions and so on”.
Responsibility will be tightened for popularization and advertising. Marijuana sales remains punishable. As to Cannabis production for exports, this process will be strictly regulated to avoid chaotic and illegal actions”, the Prime Minister said.
