Georgian pupils have won golden and silver medals at GENIUS Olympiad 2017 in the USA.
The world Olympiad was over on June 18. This year representatives from 65 countries participated in the event. About 500 projects out of 1500 ones were selected for the final stage.
The jury of GENIUS Olympiad 2017 selected 5 Georgian pupils for the final stage, which was held on June 11-17.
Demirel College pupil Lizi Shengelia and young scientists Mariam Arabidze and Shota Meiparian won awards.
The project submitted by Lizi won a golden medal, while the projects on ecological issues submitted by Mariam and Shota won silver medals.
GENIUS Olympic competition is held on annual basis and it is organized by New York State University. The final state lasts more than 1 week at Ontario Lake. Traditionally, the competition consists of several stages and it assembles talented young people from all over the world.
