Georgian Paralympic Wheelchair Fencer Irma Khesturiani to Qualified for Rio

Georgian wheelchair fencer, Irma Khetsuriani to compete at Rio 2016 Summer Paralympics, committee of Paralympics in Georgia told Ipress.

Russia will not compete at next month’s Paralympics in Rio after losing an appeal against a ban imposed for state-sponsored doping, this fact let Irma Khetsuriani to compete in Rio. 

As for swimmer Lika Chachibaia, it is known that she is already among licensed sportsmen, three Georgian’s will appear in Rio: Judoka Zviad Gogochuri, swimmer Lika Chachibaia and fencer Irma Khetsuriani.

The 2016 Summer Paralympics, the fifteenth Summer Paralympic Games, are an upcoming major international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities governed by the International Paralympic Committee.
