Georgian movie “My happy family” gained an award at Sofia International Film Festival for the best director. The prize was granted to film directors Nana Ekvtimishvili and Simon Gross.
Sofia International Film Festival was held on 9-19 of March. In the main competition program, there were 13 other films presented together with a Georgian movie.
“My happy family” was created with the support of National Film Center. It tells us about an ordinary Georgian family in which, 3 generations live together under the same roof. Suddenly, 52-year-old Marina makes a decision to leave her family!
“My happy family” is the first Georgian film which sold its global distribution rights to Netflix Company and it means that the film will become available for audience in 130 countries. Before Netflix opening night, the film will be on shown on the cinema screens in France, Germany and Georgia.
