Georgian Language to Be Taught in Greece

The Ministry of Education, Research and Religion Affairs of Greece has passed a resolution on enforcement of a pilot program for teaching Georgian language at Greek public schools.

The Georgian Embassy in Greece has already received a due notification from the Ministry, the Georgian MFA reports.

According to the decision, initially, the Georgian language pilot program will be introduced at one of the public schools in Athens, where a considerable part of Georgian pupils are concentrated.

At the same time, the Georgian party will ensure financial and logistics support for the project implementation. The project has been developed and will be implemented in accordance with the regulations of the education system of Greece and the Greek legislation.

 The Georgian Embassy in Greece has negotiated the issue with the Greek Authorities for many years.
