Georgia Announces Coproduction Grants

Georgian National Film Centre allotted 341,769 EUR / 900,000 GEL to three majority feature coproductions directed by Revaz Gigineishvili, Dimitri Tsintsadze and George Ovashvili, but the latter refused the grant.

The three projects are Hostages by Revaz Gigineishvili, produced by Vladimir Kacharava through 20 Steps Productions in coproduction with the Russian INK Film LTD, 43 by Dimitri Tsintsadze, produced by Zurab Maghalashvili through Cinetech in coproduction with the Russian Theatre and Film Centre IBRUS, and Khibulaby George Ovashvili produced by George Ovashvili through Alamdary Films.

Contacted by FNE, George Ovashvili, who received 75,948 EUR / 200,000 GEL, didn’t comment on the reason of his pullback. The results of the second round of the grants competition have been announced on 30 October 2015.
