Financial Improprieties Exposed at Three Universities

The State Auditing Service has examined universities under the management of Ministry of Culture, including Shota Rustaveli University of Theater, Apolon Kutateladze State Academy of Arts and Vano Sarajishvili State Conservatoire. The auditing process has exposed financial improprieties.

Namely, they do not have a joint registration system to register debts of status-suspended students, cannot ensure imposition of sanctions for violation of agreements with private companies, cannot accurately register fixed assets, and have also violated academic process registration rules.

“The mentioned educational schools under the control of Ministry of Culture do not use a joint electronic system for valuable registration of full and accurate information on faculties, number of students due to the courses and fees, grants, debts and so on,” the report by the state auditing service reads.
