Enslaving Agreement with TAV Georgia Hampers Airport Construction in Kakheti

The enslaving agreement with TAV Georgia hampers the construction of an international airport in the Kakheti Region, Irakli Shiolashvili, the Kakheti Region Governor, noted.

The agreement with TAV Georgia deprives the Georgian party the right to construct a new international airport within a specified distance. We hope the Georgian Economy Ministry will interfere in this issue to revise the agreement, Shiolashvili pointed out.

“The business sector has put forward the issue of constructing an international airport. Our region needs an international airport to appoint direct flights with specific countries and organize tourism routes”, Shiolashvili noted.

We are ready to work on the airport construction issues, but there are several obstacles, including the agreement signed by the previous Authorities with TAV Georgia. This agreement strips the Georgian party the right for constructing a new international airport. This is an enslaving agreement”, Shiolashvili said.
