The Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili conducted meeting with the Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg within the frames of Davos World Economic Forum.
The parties discussed issues related to Georgia becoming member of NATO and assessed attained progress. Pursuant to the statement of NATO’s Secretary General Georgia has made significant steps towards becoming closer to the NATO standards.
The Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili thanked Jens Stoltenberg for supporting territorial integrity and state sovereignty of Georgia and expressed hope that NATO-Georgian relationships will be deepened.
“It was a brilliant meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia. This was our first meeting since Giorgi Kvirikashvili became Prime Minister, even though I knew him when he occupied the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs. Today I was given an opportunity to meet new Foreign Minister. We of course discussed approaching Warsaw Summit. We also examined upcoming Defence Ministerial, which will tae place in February and where the session of NATO-Georgia Commission will also take place. This was a delightful meeting and I plan to continue cooperation with Georgia” – Secretary General of NATO declared.
