Batmuni Botanical garden and “Adjaristsqali Georgia” signed the grant agreement. The grant will provide finances to develop the garden.
There will be solar energy system and parking place arranged. They will also build temporary administration building, picnic place, natural tracks and canalization system, eco-toilets, ticket offices, information stops, boards, maps, leaflets and Bee House construction to develop bee-keeping.
The construction and development of Alpine Garden is conducted with the support of Small Caucasian Alliance program, which is being implemented by Swiss NGO, “Merci Corps” with the support of Swiss development and collaboration agency. According to the agreement that has been made, the aim of the project is to assist to start and develop Goderdzi Alpine Garden, which will become a regional center for tourism, education and research in the village. The aim of the project is also to promote maintenance of diversity, providing relict, endemic, agricultural, medical, and decorative kind of plants and using them for the touristic, scientific and educational purposes.
The project costs 100 thousand USD.
