German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit Georgia on August 23-24.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Davit Zalkaliani assessed the importance of the visit of German Chancellor to Georgia.
According to him, Merkel will visit South Caucasus region besides Georgia.
“It is important that the country, which is a very strong supporter of Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, has a high level of visit. The previous visit was made ten years ago and I think that this visit is indeed very important in terms of the current situation in the region, German support for the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is crucial”, – said the Foreign Minister.
