Prime Minister of Georgia announces several important events scheduled for 2016.
Next year Georgia will celebrate two major events: the 850th birthday of the renowned Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli and the 25th anniversary of Georgia’s Independence, the PM said at a government session.
For this purpose special state commissions will be established to plan out a “worthy celebration of the most important events.”
In addition, from the first to the fifth of July Tbilisi, will host the 25th Annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
In Prime Minister’s words, the event is unprecedented for Tbilisi in its scope and will be attended by parliamentary delegations from 57 countries and up to 700 politicians.
In 2016, the Congress of the Georgian Diaspora is also planned to be held in Georgia with the initiative of the Patriarch of All Georgia.
