World Bank: TANAP to Promote Regional Trade and Communication

TANAP will develop regional trade and communication, The World Bank (WB) representatives noted.

“This is one of the key infrastructural projects for Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and south-East European countries. Support of major projects like TANAP proves our readiness to assist countries in development” , the statement reads.

‘TANAP will not only increase competitive capacity, but also create new economic capabilities and promote regional trade and strengthen energy safety in Turkey and EU”, the WB representatives said.

As reported, TANAP (Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline) will be an extension of South Caucasus pipeline near eastern border of Turkey, from where the pipeline will cross Greece and join gas transportation network of Italy.

Total investment value of the second phase of Shah-Deniz project makes up 45 billion USD, including 2 billion USD investment will be made in Georgia
