The World Bank Announces on Continuation of Georgia’s Support

Dimitri Kumsishvili has introduced the Vice-President of World Bank 4-point plan of the government and basic direction of 2017 budget.

Minister of Finance and Cyril Muller have discussed cooperation priorities of Georgia and the World Bank at the meeting. Dimitri Kumsishvili noted, that 2017 state budget totally serves to the state program – “Freedom, Rapid Development, Well-being”, which might provide social protection of the population and economical development of the country.

According to the Ministry, Georgia has made very important step, in terms of tax reform, for acceleration of economic growth and encouragement of private investments.

At the same time, noted that important investment should be made in the state infrastructure in the next 4 years. Namely, implementation of infrastructural projects is planned within the whole country (construction-rehabilitation of 800 km road section, arrangement – improvement of bridges, tunnels, airports and resort zones and etc), which will assist development of economic condition of local population and establishment of new working places.

Cyril Muller has focused on the ongoing projects in Georgia, which are supported by the World Bank. He positively assigned activity of the bank. According to him, the World Bank is actively engaged in the economic and infrastructural reforms in Georgia, which should be continued for the future.
