The smoke of Pirveli cigarettes, manufactured by Tbilisi Tobacco company, contains excessive volume of tar, nicotine and asphyxiating gas, the report prepared by Toxicology Prevention and Chemical Safety Research Center of Health Ministry of Ukraine, reads, according to the Ukranews.
“All samples of cigarettes were found with excessive volume of tar, nicotine and asphyxiating gas – 10.1 and 10mg.
Namely, real volume of tar in Pirveli 7 Blue nonfilter cigarette (19.5mg) exceeds the volume indicated by the manufacturer on the box (10mg) by about twice.
Excessive volume of tar was found in other brands too: Pirveli Premium Blue 7 – 11.6 mg (indicated 8 mg), Pirveli International Blue 7 – 12.7 mg (indicated 8 mg).
At the same time, excessive volume of asphyxiating gas was detected in almost all examined brands. 14.2 mg asphyxiating gas was detected in Pirveli Premium Red 9 and Pirveli Premium Blue 7, and Pirveli International Blue 7 was found with 15.8 mg asphyxiating gas, while in all cases, the manufacturer has indicated 10 mg asphyxiating gas volume.
The examined samples also showed excessive content of nicotine. For example, nicotine volume in Pirveli 7 Blue is 1.35 mg, while 1mg is indicated”, the report reads.
