Turkish Airlines Holds 19 Percent of Georgian Air Market

Turkish Airlines controls 19% of the Georgian aviation market and is the domestic market leader. According to the statistics, in January to June Turkish Airlines ranks first in terms of quantity of passengers transported by regular flights. The airline has handled 205 615 passengers for six months.

Ukraine International Airlines FlyUIA is one of the leaders of the Georgian aviation market that holds 10% market ratio in terms of passenger turnover. In January-June the airline has transported total of 109 122 passengers.

Georgian Airways controls 10% market ratio (101 565 passengers transported).

According to the January to June report, Russian airlines Aeroflot, S7 and Turkish low-cost airline Pegasus Airlines hold 6-6% market ratio on the Georgian aviation market. Flydubai holds a 5% ratio, while Wizz Air controls 4% ratio.

According to the first half report, Lufthansa, Air Arabiam, Belavia, Atlasglobal and AZAL hold 3-3% market ratios.

Israir, QatarAirways, Air Astana and LOT hold 2% market ratios. . According to the civil aviation agency, foreign airlines control 89% ratio on the Georgian aviation market.

As reported, Georgian airports have handled 21.33 more passengers in January to June 2016 and transported 1 082 828 passengers.
