Top 10 countries from Which Most of the Tourists Visiting Georgia

In April 2016, in Georgia, the number of visitors increased by 17.2% and amounted to 462 480 visits.

From there, 171 235 visits were performed by tourists, which is 37% of the total amount compared to the previous year’s same period. Thus, the index faced 20% increase.

107 500 transit visits were defined as it is 23.3% of the total number, compared with the previous year’s indicator which made up 13.5%.

Other types of visits amounted 183 745 million, which is 39.7% of the total amount, with an increase of 16.8% in the previous year’s outcome.

As for the January-April period, 1 596 916 visits were made in the country, which is 15.4% more than the figure for the same period in 2015.

In April 2016, most of the visitors were from Turkey (+12%), Azerbaijan (+ 17.6%), Armenia (+ 8.7%), Russia (+26.7%) and Ukraine (+25.9%) .

Also, the positive trend is maintained from the EU states. Most of the tourists from EU countries visited Georgia from Italy, Latvia, and France (+26%, +25% and +14% respectively). From the Central Asian countries – Kazakhstan (+29%) and Uzbekistan (6+4 %). From Eastern Europe – Belarus (+36%) and Moldova (+36%), whereas from the Middle East – Israel (+106%), while Asian countries – the United Arab Emirates (+141%).

The top 10 countries, from which most of the visits were carried out in Georgia, are listed below. However the first 3 positions still Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey are keeping.
