Tbilisi Mayor Meets with World Bank Vice President

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has met with World Bank Vice President Hartwig Shaffer and other representatives of the World Bank.

The parties discussed bilateral cooperation issues and important projects to be implemented in Tbilisi for the next 4 years.

“At the meeting we introduced our projects and visions to the World Bank Vice President for the next 4 years. They expressed support in a number of directions. I thanked the WB representatives that they have assigned experts for assessment of general land use plan. We hope to prepare a valuable document in compliance with EU countries”, Kakha Kaladze said. 

The WB delegation members noted that WB will continue cooperation with Tbilisi City Hall in terms of social and economic development of the capital city.

“At the meeting we confirmed our readiness to continue cooperation between Tbilisi City Hall and World Bank. This cooperation mainly refers to a development of the general plan and development of Tbilisi into an highly-developed business location to attract more tourists”, the WB Vice President noted. 

The meeting at Tbilisi City Hall was attended by Tbilisi Vice Mayor Ilia Eloshvili, WB Regional Director Merci Tembon, Head of Sustainable Development Program Sara Michale and other members of the delegation.
