Tbilisi City Hall Does Not Consider Introduction of Paid Traffic

According to Vice-Mayor of Tbilisi Irakli Lekvinadze, the city authorities are not considering the introduction of paid traffic in order to combat the traffic congestion on Tbilisi roads.

“A statement  made by the head of Improvement Department of Tbilisi City Hall about such a solution to the problem does not mean that the city authorities intend to implement this decision. He only stated that in big cities around the world such a practice of solving traffic jam problem is adopted, but it was merely his personal opinion. His remarks were taken out of context. In reality, the Tbilisi Mayor’s Office is not considering the introduction of a paid traffic,” Vice Mayor said.
