The 2017 budget initial bill will be forwarded to Tbilisi Council within legal terms, Tbilisi City Hall statement reads.
The 2017 budget gives priority to municipal transport development, road infrastructure, greening works and education, the statement reads.
Under the budget bill, more than 62 million GEL will be spent on municipal transport development. The figure has almost doubled year on year. At the same time, expenses on construction, restoration and reconstruction-maintenance of road infrastructure will rise by more than 6.8 million GEL (85.5 million GEL), up from 78.7 million GEL year on year.
As to city greening works, the allocations will increase by 3 million GEL compared to the previous year. Budget assignments for education and pre-school facilities will increase by 15 million GEL. Construction of 10 nursery schools will be finished and construction of 8 new ones will start.
It should be noted that in 2017, as compared to the previous year, administrative costs will be cut more, namely, by 16.1 million GEL, including bonus fund will shrink by 9.3 million GEL.
