Tbilisi Budget Priorities

The 2018 Tbilisi budget amounts to 861 609 000 GEL, up 46 398 900 GEL as compared to the initial bill and up 48 444 000 GEL as compared to the 2017 municipal budget.

The budget bill revised by the team of new Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze has enlarged as a result of special transfer of 43 million GEL allocated from the state budget. Moreover, balance transfers have risen by 3 298 900 GEL compared to the initial variant and by 13 624 700 GEL as compared to 2017 and totals 345 806 900 GEL.

As to the 2018 municipal budget bill priorities, the expenditures are as follows:

  • Transport infrastructure construction-restoration – 130 531 300 GEL;
  • Construction-exploitation of infrastructure facilities and enhancement of emergency buildings – 195 642 100 GEL;
  • Maintaining and improving ecological environment – 88 089 300 GEL.
  • Promotion of economic development – 2 990 000 GEL;
  • Development of fellowships of apartment owners – 29 925 700 GEL;
  • Health protection and social provision – 189 539 500 GEL;
  • Education field – 117 445 600 GEL;
  • Culture, Sports and youth affairs – 28 954 000 GEL;
  • Public order and security – 3 158 300 GEL;
  • Operation of representative and executive bodies of Tbilisi – 75 333 300 GEL;

At the same time, according to the submitted bill, the 2018 payrolls part has decreased by 5 170 000 GEL to 82 717 000 GEL, while number of employees made up 5 14 GEL.

Tbilisi City Hall has already forwarded the 2018 budget bill to the Council for approval.
