Out of 281 surveyed cooperatives, 275 reported their production value in 2017, which comprised to nearly 15 million GEL. Out of this amount, about 13 million GEL was actual income received in financial year of 2017, in which 5.3 million GEL (40%) was net income (profit).
Compared to baseline year (2014), the cooperatives’ production value increased by 37% on average per cooperative in 2017;
While compared to 2016, this indicator was -5% on average per cooperative in 2017. Mostly because of unfavorable weather conditions and stinkbug epidemic spread in Western Georgia;
If we exclude Hazelnut cooperatives, which got the most affected by the stinkbug (plus the disease spread), the production value created by cooperatives has steadily increasing trend.
