State Budget to Finance Village Support Program by 20 million GEL

In 2019 Government of Georgia will restore the village support program.

Maia Tskitishvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure told reporters that the program will make focus on financing infrastructural projects, as compared to previous years.

”The Regional Development Fund finances projects worth over 50 000 GEL, but villages frequently need small projects such as arranging parks, accommodation of streets, cleaning sewage channels and so on. The program was restored, but in smaller scales. Furthermore, we have directed this program to infrastructure projects to increase its efficiency. The budget makes up 20 million GEL”, the Minister noted and added the program efficient implementation will be supervised by local self-governments.

“We have explored the program defects. All details will be specified in the discussion process”, she said.
