SSA Marine World-class Seaport Operator Shows Interest in Anaklia Seaport Operation

World-class seaport operator SSA Marine shows interest in operation of Anaklia deep-water seaport. Negotiations are underway with Anaklia Development Consortium. The information was released by office of Prime Minister of Georgia.

Bob Waters, first vice president of SSA Marine, is visiting Georgia. He was received by Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili on January 10.

At the meeting Georgian Prime Minister noted that Anaklia deep-water seaport is one of the major strategic projects for Georgia and it is of crucial importance to attract world level seaport operators for successful implementation of the mentioned project.

Prime Minister has also talked about Georgia’s growing geopolitical potential and updated the guests on the projects that are being implemented by Georgian government jointly with private sector.

With head office in Seattle, SSA Marine, the US major seaport terminal operator, owns terminals in 9 countries of the world. According to official information, SSA Marine handles 27.2 million containers (TEU) a year.
