The company SOCAR will cover the cost of the natural gas consumed by churches and monasteries located on the territory of Georgia.
In this regard, the Georgian Patriarchate releases a statement which says:
“Under the agreement signed between SOCAR and the Patriarchate of Georgia, SOCAR took a goodwill obligation to ensure payment for the consumed natural gas by churches and monasteries located on the territory of Georgia. The term of this agreement due to expire on Nov. 1, 2015, and by the company’s decision was extended until 31 December 2015 inclusive. It should be noted that assistance was also extended for other religions.
The Patriarchate of Georgia warmly thanks SOCAR, Mr. President Rovnag Abdulaev and CEO of SOCAR Energy Georgia Mr. Mahir Mammadov for such a great support,” the Patriarchate’s statement reads.
