SOCAR to Construct 1600 KM Gas Distribution Network in 2016

Energy Minster and Vice Prime Minister Kakha Kaladze and SOCAR President Rovnag Abdulaeyv have visited the new gas distribution network in the village of Kirikhlo, the Marneuli District.

The gas distribution network of 11 kilometer long will supply gas to 259 families in the village, the Georgian Energy Ministry reports.

In the Kvemo Kartli Region, SOCAR Georgia Gas has constructed 1 027 kilometer gas pipeline and 26 837 subscribers are able to receive natural gas. Natural gas  is already supplied to 100 000 families in the Region.

The company plans to expand the network by additional 158 kilometer section by the end of 2016 to supply natural gas to additional 3 434 potential families.

According to the 2016 gasification plan, SOCAR will construct 1 600km gas distribution networks to supply natural gas to more than 40 000 families.

IN whole, in 2009-2017 SOCAR Georgia Gas will have constructed  more than 7 000km gas distribution networks to supply natural gas to additional 250 000 families in Georgia’, the Energy Ministry officials noted.
