The Shortest Road to Connect Georgia and Armenia has been Completed

The Ministry of Regional development and Infrastructure roads department  completed the construction of the highly important main road Guguti which leads the way from Ponichala to Marneuli.  The road is the shortest way to connect Lower Kartli Region and the Republic of Armenia with Tbilisi.

The rehabilitation of 15 kilometers road was implemented on two different parts of the road. In the frame of the project, Bolnisi and Dmanisi Municipality roads have been constructed.

Considering  archaeological discoveries, this road has more significance now because it is the way which leads to archaeological site tourists want to visit.

Since the traffic was really big on the road, it was necessary to make it wider. In the frame of the project, artificial buildings, supporting walls, connections with local roads, entrances to the houses and parking lots have been constructed.

Rehabilitation works started in November, 2015.  The government spent 19 million GEL on the project from state budget.
