Ruling Party not Waits for Russian Aggression due to the Association Agreement with the EU

The parliamentary majority doesn’t expect any kind of aggression from  Russia after the signing the Association Agreement with the European Union.

As we reported, presidential spokesman DmitryPeskov said that  the signing of the Association Agreements with the EU was  the sovereign right ofUkraine, Georgia and Moldova , but Russia would take protective measures in the case of the negative impact of this document  on  the Russian market.

Zakaria Kutsnashvili, one of the leaders of the parliamentary majority, explains to ”Commersant” that Russia sees the European Union as a rival and considers  its approach to the Association Agreement in this context . The MP notes  that unlike Russia,  Georgia sees its natural state joining the EU, which is totally different from Russia’s position: Europe is Georgia’s choice and Georgia is part of Europe.

As for Russia’s reaction, Kutsnashvili says that everything can be assumed but there is no danger at this point. In his words, Georgia’s leverage will be limited only by virtue of international law in any case.
