Rail Freight Turnover Declined by 17 Percent in Georgian Corridor

Georgian Railway” has announced on transportation of 8, 92 mln t freight through 9 months.

Fright turnover is diminished by 16, 9% y-o-y. According to the biggest shipping company, local fright of 1,548 mln t has been transported through January-September, while 708 555 t has been exporting cargo, 1, 96 mln –import and 4, 7 million – transit.

Growing trend has been fixed in August-September at the expense of fright transportation by refrigerator sections. However, merely in September 5460 t cargo has transported in September by this way, whereas 16 798 t in total through 9 months. In addition, 26,812 containers are transported by the rail in the same period.
