Potato exports have increased 7 times – the Ministry of Agriculture disseminates information. According to the ministry, the potato exported this year exceeded 35 thousand tons, which is 7 times higher than the same period last year. The demand for high quality products is also high on the domestic market.
“According to farmers, demand for export and domestic market has increased by doubling prices, which doubled their income” the report reads.

A large portion of potato production in Georgia comes to Samtskhe-Javakheti region and 64% of the country’s total production.
