According to Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Passenger turnover between Ukraine and Georgia might be possible by IDs.
“I would like to point out the strategic partnership of our countries, which, in addition to the close, friendly interpersonal relationships, is based on our common interests and striving to be a full-fledged part of the free world,” the Prime Minister said after the meeting with Prime minister of Ukraine. According to him, Ukraine remains the most important trading partner for years.
“Trade turnover between our countries increased by 19% and reached almost half billion dollars. In addition, Ukraine is in the 5th position among the main trading partners of Georgia. However, these figures do not reflect the full potential of economic cooperation in our countries, we must reconsider ambitious goals, and with the overall efforts to maximize trade turnover for the benefit of both countries.
In the context of deepening sectoral cooperation, we accept the signing of two memorandums in the framework of the visit of the Prime Minister of Ukraine to Georgia on development of land registration and cadastre system, as well as development of drug quality control.
One of the mutual goals of our countries is to become full-fledged members of the European and Euro-Atlantic space. Georgia is ready to take further, more active steps – we are ready to implement a very complex and ambitious reform plan that will ultimately lead us to our goal.
We should also simplify passenger turnover between our countries for our citizens. We know that citizens of Georgia and Ukraine are interested in visiting one another countries and today we express our desire to start a dialogue with ID cards to enable our citizens to move to our countries more conveniently,” Premier said.
