Ores and Copper Concentrates Rank First among Georgia’s Exports Items to China

In January-February 2017 Georgia exported 19.972 million USD ores and copper concentrates to China.

According to Geostat, the national statistics service of Georgia, in the reporting period, Georgia’s exports to China marked 25.277 million USD.

Natural wines of grapes rank second in Georgia’s exports to China (2.397 million USD), ores and manganese concentrates rank third with 950 400 USD. Vehicles rank fourth with 942 600 USD and wastes and copper scrap iron are fifth with 674 800 USD.

It should be noted that Georgia’s exports to China has been growing since 2012. Namely, in 2012 exports marked 25.674 million USD, in 2013 – 33.956 million USD, in 2014 – 90.393 million USD, in 2015 – 125.800 million USD, in 2016 – 169.586 million USD.

As to imports, in January-February 2017 total imports marked 89.527 million USD. According to Geostat, in 2012 China’s imports to Georgia marked 614 million USD, in 2013 – 612 million USD, in 2014 – 733 million USD, in 2015 – 587 million USD, in 2016 – 547.5 million USD.

In the reporting period, China emerged as Georgia’s number one trade partner.
