In the history of Georgia, one of the largest hydroelectric power station “Oni cascade” Construction will begin next year in 2017.
The CEO of “Ferry” company, which is implementing the project, stated at the radio “Commersant” that at this stage it is the time for the Feasibility study, on which well-known European company “La Mayer” works, and carries out geological and hydrological topographic study along with the Georgian engineers. These all will be completed by fall and after that the optimal agreement with the government will begin.
Lasha Iordanashvili says that active works will begin from the next year. The power of “Oni cascade” makes up 180 MW, with an investment cost of 330 million dollars. HPP is planned to put into operation in 2021.
